Knife Makers' Guild
In 2015 Andy Roy was welcomed into the Knife Makers' Guild. For those not familiar with the guild, it was established in 1970 to promote custom knives and knife makers, assist the knife maker technically, encourage ethical and professional business conduct, and to sponsor an annual business meeting and knife show.
Becoming a member of the guild is no quick or easy process; it involves a recommendation for membership by multiple existing members of the guild and a critical analysis of multiple handmade knives by the best knife makers in the world. While Andy won't be stopping his knife making work to sign autographs, he is tremendously appreciative of the guild for their recognition of his work and the quality of the Fiddleback Forge handmade knives.
With the launch of the mid-tech production knife line earlier this year, Andy has set Fiddleback Forge squarely on the path of bring the best knives to a wide range of different users and related needs. Fiddleback Forge has never been about shiny trophy knives to put on a mantel - Fiddleback Forge knives are working knives for the working man and working woman that seek a high quality knife that matches their lifestyle and can be passed down to future generations.
Andy's membership into the Knife Makers' Guild not only shows the recognition of Andy's handmade knife making skills, but reinforces his commitment to hsi craft and his customers. Also in 2015, Andy grew his operation significantly, moving into a larger manufacturing facility to not only address the demand for his knives, but to also extend his appreciation of the craft with others. Andy welcomes other knife makers, apprentices, local Georgia Custom Knife Makers' Guild members (where Andy is also a member), and others to his shop to share his experience and appreciate for an artistry uncommon in today's high-tech mass-manufactured world.
