Bushfinger Production Knife

The Bushfinger is typically the go-to knife for the first-time Fiddleback Forge knife owner. The reason for this is the full size 4 inch blade. However, handmade Bushfingers from Fiddleback can sometimes be a little hard to come by; enter the mid-tech production version of the Bushfinger. The mid-tech production version of this knife extends the availability of this knife and introduces it at a price point that makes it value even more compelling.

Made of very rugged, quality materials, each one of the Bushfingers is hand tuned and assembled here at Fiddleback Forge, just like all of our production knives to make them a true mid-tech production knife. Topping off the packaging is an included, top quality leather belt sheath from JRE Industries.

At almost nine inches in overall length, this model is very handy for virtually any chores that come up on a hiking trip, from cutting cordage, making snacks along the trail, or light food prep on an over-nighter. Besides the fact that a fixed blade will never close on your finger like a folding knife can, you also get the added benefit of being able to prepare messy foods with no worries of it getting pressed into hard to clean nooks and crannies in the knife handle. There is no argument that fixed blades are simply more hygienic, and on a belt rather than in a pocket, easier to reach when needed.

From the outset, his knife was developed to be a light-weight and highly portable tool, in order to not be a heavy burden on those long backpacking adventures. Yet also, not so small that it cannot function well in larger duties when the need arises. The five inch handle is three dimensionally contoured, and fills the hand well for excellent control in any detailed work. The 3.9 inch blade will easily handle any tinder prep that may may be necessary for making fire under less than ideal conditions. We all know the forecast is not always spot on.
